WIP Wednesday Post #5

Whoaa... it's been my 5th WIP post on the blog, amazingly since I decided to join along posting my work in progress weekly, I have not yet skip writing on my blog every week.

Thanks to these two great crafter who encouraging this to happen Tami's Amis and Small Things. Do visit their blogs for more stories on what other crafters are doing for the past week.

So, my week been moving bit slow, since our city is currently attacked by heavy smoke haze for almost a week and still going on till now. The weather been extremely foggy, humid and hot which definitely creates big impact on our health and also our mood. Really praying hard for rain to come, but still yet to happen.

I am continuing knitting my blanket which I already started since last month. The pattern I use called Baby Chalice Blanket, a simple lacey blanket but looks elegant and beautiful. I am targeting to finish it by this week cos it was not supposed to be a long frogged project, considering the size I am knitting is only about 100x100cm.

WIP Wednesday Post # 4

So a week has already pass by, my Tallis tunic finally completed and under blocking process. I only need to knit its ribbing for neckline and sleeves then it's really done.

And I also have started a doily crocheting, which is part of local group mystery CAL. The doily looks just so vintage and too lovely too miss.

Don't forget to drop by to Tami's blog and Small Things for more great story from other crafters.

WIP Wednesday post #2

So it is the first Wednesday for the month of June and I am just so excited to update my blog on my current working in progress. Do check out Tami's blog and Ginny's blog for bunch of great blogs from other crafters.

I am currently involving in a test pattern on Ravelry for this pattern called Little Twister Sweater designed by the incredible talented Kate Gondwana.
The pattern has already emailed out while back and the dateline is set by 28th of June.
However due to my hand injury mentioned on my last week hand, I only able to start the casting on today.

Having a little bit issue with choosing the right yarn to get the correct gauge which caused me to swap for four times until I came across this brownish maroon yarn and thankfully I have it overcame with this yarn.

I am aiming to finish this sweater within a week time from today so I can actually continue working on another project which has been in my wish list which some of it has already casted on. You can't blame a knitter for being too greedy for having too many WIPs because she is too passionate right \'(^^,)'/

The Last Wednesday of the Month.

I finally have the time to sit down in front of my laptop and web browsing through some great blogs, on this very last Wednesday on the month of May.
Found out these great blogs : Tami's Amis  & Small Things that encourage people to actually share their work in progress on any crafts online every Wednesday

You can check out what other crafters are doing this week listed in those two blogs as well. It caught my interest for sure and definitely is my first event to join which sounds really fun.

A little encouragement from others will sure boost up the mood to get the project finish soon, especially when you know there will be some of the reader that will drop by to read your blog on the progress you made, I assume.

So here is my work in progress for this week: a pullover with a cable and lace pattern, progressing at 60% done, worked in round and I am desperately hoping to get it completed by end of the week.

The only issue I have now, I accidentally hurt my right hand while I start knitting this few days back. Somehow this yarn that I used was not moving smoothly on my bamboo needle - Etimo Carry C, so I have to push almost every stitch I am about to knit.

Never have this kind experience with other yarn of the same type though. I ended up have to change the needle to aluminium circular - Addi fixed circular and it did help the stitches to move smoothly but sadly my hand already hurts, so I still need to slow down and take a rest another day or two.

Finger crossing that my hand will heal soon and I can get back to finishing the pullover.

Mom's Cardigan is finally completed!

Talking bout the cardigan which I supposed to knit for my mom somewhere around end of last year, the one faced with lack of yarn issue, has finally been resolved.
Yes.. I finally found a fellow knitter who did buy the same yarn as the I used to knit the cardigan and I am just so lucky.

So my mom's cardigan sleeves finally completed and whole project is no longer a working in progress for sure. But just too bad that Mom could not wear it yet at the moment since the cardigan is a little bit too thick for the weather at our end at this time.

Despite all of that I am really relieved that I can finally checked this cardigan out from my WIP list forever..hahaha!

Wednesday FO

Finally a so called weekend project is ended up finish in weekdays.
Been struggling so badly in forcing myself to get this WIP completed as soon as possible.

I used to be able to finish crocheting an adult hat within a day or two, but now it just seems to take forever to finish, sigh!

I do have some issue with sore hand everytime I start to crochet, which I do not find during knitting. Maybe it is all due to the pressure I use when holding the hook during crochet time.

Nevertheless, it always give you the feeling of real satisfaction when you finally get to complete the project which you have started.

Friday WIPs

Here some of my WIPs that I am planning to finished up soon. Considered to be a nit greedy to work on spfew big project on the same thing I think..hahaha..but it is all part of kicking out the boredom if having to work on one project.

Digged this project out from my WIPs bag, a wearable started way long ago, from 2004. Never get to finish it since it started, due to lack of knowledge in knitting wearable without any guidance.

This was the second project after my very first lesson from the local yarn shop where I learn to knit.

So since currently I think that myself been capable enough to knit on my own, I decide to finish this project up soon.

Second WIPs for the week is this circular scarf made by order received online. The request is this scarf to be long and wide enough to be wrapped around the neck.

It has reached 100cm length now, with a simple my very owned design of stokinette with garter band on each side. Plan to finish it off with 180cm length.

Here is my another project that I am soon to start. Was checking the gauge with the soft cotton from my shop.

This project taken from Free Pattern Tester Group called 'Hear Apart Girl's Sweater' design by MariChiba.

The submission dateline is this end of the month but I just want to finish this up as soon as possible so I can clear up my another WIPs.

New Knitting WIP ~ Finally Completed

Wanted to take part in the contest held in my knitting group, I decided to try on this leaf pattern, called 'Tempat Bekal nan Aksi' (Meal Box Pouch) from the new book of Thata Pang-Rajutan Inspiratif.

150811 ~ the project started
It was so eye catching, make me so attracted to try making one. Chosen acrylic linen yarn for the material with circular 3.75mm.
The dateline of submission is 15th Aug 2011, 12am. So there's only few hours to go. Wish I can get it done on time & submit it to the contest :D

So end up, I didn't manage to finish the bag on time to enter the contest, however I did finish knitting it at the end. Though the whole finishing process takes me almost a week, I am still happy that it was no longer a work in progress but now it become finished project.

17.08.11 ~ 5 motifs repeated,
working on another colour - Dark Brown
20.08.11 ~ repeating the motif with previous colour - Beige
21.08.11 ~ Finished!!!

Counting on...

my WIPs...exactly!!
WIPs as in working in progress project, or in another word i.e. unfinished work which is getting more & more from time to time. Just mentioned it, either knit or crochet, I have them all as WIPs...oh God...really wondering when it can be reduced and how soon can it be..

Looking at how productive another fellow knitter/crocheter, really encourage me to knit/crochet more sometimes..yup..sometimes..cos the encouragement usually will last not very long until the laziness is striking again..

If only I can be really committed & dedicated my time fully to my WIPs aside of the time when I have to take care Stella, I foresee that I won't be scratching head everytime i look at my yarn stashes.

Time to set my mind to get all of it done for sure, starting the moment i finish up writing this post...hahahaha...*finger cross*
