Week 5 - 32/365 : Exhausting week!

So it has been a while since my last post few weeks back, whereby I promosed myself to update this blog weekly earlier this year.
Actually things been hectic the last few weeks, both me and my little girl had a very bad cough and flue. And even worse my hubby infected by chickenpox.
The sickness moment been going for about a week and a half with all the normal activities been reschedule. It was quite intense and tiring for me honeslt, but I just have no choice but to go through with it and have to stay stong even I am actualy struggling from recovering my self from the cough and flu.

During that hectic period, for sure no yarn and needle touched. I was just to tired for everything after along busy day, replacing hubby to stay at the shop whole day.
Thankfully, with a very strict diet for the cough, I recovered quite fast and able to finish up some project from the WIPs bag after that.

I am just glad with my this two weeks performance and just could not be more proud,
I finish 2 kids cardigan, 1 adult cardigan, 1 hat and 1 shawl, qute impressive huh, hahaha.
So here are the pictures of my finished project for these 2 weeks:

Playing with Beads

It has been in my Must Do List, adding the beads into a crochet or knit project of mine. Cos it makes the project turn out so sparkle and look nice.
So I decided to finally have a try on bead crocheting with PkuRajuters' June CAL Shawl : Triangle Shawl in Connected Heart Design by Sandi Marshall.

For a first timer like me, it definitely was a challenge working with beads while crocheting, cos not only you have to concentrate on which part the beads should be put on but also to insert the yarn into the beads using a smaller hook then the one I used for the shawl.

No doubt that while working with beads, I had some beads scattered around on the floor also due to my clumsiness, on accidentally flip the beads tray over. Not only that, I put up the challenge a little bit higher by working with black color yarn, in order to make the beads stands out and of course it was quite pain in the eyes working with a dark color yarn especially when you are short sighted. And it was also the project that used up lotsa needle during blocking time, since I had the edging more complicated then usual.

But overall it was really fun and to see the shawl finally completed, make me could not be more proud of what I have achieved.

Resolution of 2012 achieved!!!

Finally.. I could not be more proud, I have FINALLY achieved my 2012 resolution, on knitting a shawl of my own. This is for sure my most memorable finished-knitted project and also the 2nd biggest project I have knitted after all this long. Also my very first participation in a Knit Along program.

This is the Sun Catcher Shawl, designed by Iris Schreier of Artyarns. It used up about 3skeins of Artyarns Cottonspring with needle size 4mm and surprisingly completed within (plus minus) a month.

The myth I had all this while, has been broken, that Lace Knitting is hard. After patiently working through the pattern, I found that it is more to concentration issue & the determination of getting the shawl finished up. Cos the stitches used in it are all those basic stitches that can be found in easy project too.

Not only that, finishing the shawl, I also have learned a new method called Lace bind off, which I probably will not found if I don't knit this shawl.

This is one of the reason I love KNITTING even more every day, cos I get to learn new method every time I go through a project. For sure to me it has become an experience even money can't buy.

Attracted to Shawl Lace Knitting

Yup, I am now so attracted to Lace Knitting, and really been wondering why.
Cos I myself could not really figure out the actual reason of this attraction besides being amazed by the good look of the lace knitting.

It has been on my 2012 resolution to step in lace knitting especially with shawl and have enrolled my self in my knitting group KAL, which however until today I have not started at all.

Until I actually saw the KAL held by Artyarns in Ravelry : Sun Catcher Mystery Unveiled Shawl Knitalong. It immediately catch my attention and I even imported the yarn from US, cos I can't find any of this yarn here in my country.
