PkuRajuters' Yarn Bombing

Finally, after been planning for few months to held a Yarn Bombing activity in conjunction of celebrating the Indonesian 4th Knit/Crochet Festival & World Wide Knitting/Crochet in Public as well as the 1st birthday of beloved community-PkuRajuters, the event was successfully held.

Taken place at the city garden of Pekanbaru a.k.a Taman Kota, few members of PkuRajuters gathered to  support the activity, by donating some crochet granny squares to wrap the trees in the garden. Though the squares made was not a lot, but it was enough to make a part of garden looks eye-catching & colorful enough.

It also was our first outdoor gathering done. Despite the sunny weather, we all still enjoy and have a lot of fun doing our hobby outdoor. And we are for sure looking forward to another great outdoor activity in the future.

Road to FRI 2012...

Time flies and another year of "Festival Rajutan Indonesian," an Indonesian Knitting/Crochet Festive is coming. It has been the 4th festive since it first held on year 2008 and this year theme is "Merajut Persahabatan" (translate: Knitting Friendship).

This year FRI will held at Bandung on June 30th & July 1st and as usual along the way to the main event, there also will be supporting event held individually by knitter/crocheter at most of cities in Indonesia.

Being involved in the previous pre-event, my community known as Pekanbaru Rajuters has already started to make plan for this year participation. For sure there will be some interesting event will be held in order to enlarge the community in our area.

it is our 5th gathering..

 Wow, never thought it has been our 5th month being gathered in the crocheter and knitter community in our hometown & surprisingly our number grows in every meet up.

As usual it is one a month event that make us dying to skip cause we get to discuss and share all about our hobby.

This month meet up is special cause we actually celebrating the grand opening of Keidi's Crafts offline shop, that is why you can see we are all surrounded by yarns at the backdrop of all pictured posted here. And I can assure that there is NOTHING that can beat the excitement of knitting or crocheting together with lotsa yarns nearby.

the fun continuous gathering..

Having a moment spent with your fellow crocheter & knitter is always fun. Time seems to pass very fast when it come to talk about yarn & needle. Cos all we can discuss is all about yarn or pattern to do which totally take our full concentration and not bothering anything else happened around us.


So here we are in our 4th gathering, an once a month event in my hometown held specially dedicated to knitting & crocheting. It has always been an event that worth to be waited every month, cos I get to meet new friend who shares same interest & talk non stop about it, without worrying whether the person i talked to is actually understand.

Though the number of knitter/crocheter seems to not increase a lot each month, as the pioneer of this event, I am actually quite happy that there is at least 1 new member joining in so far in ever meet up.

 

Having the biggest hope of this gathering to be a twice a month event with a definite comfy spot to hang out, and spreading the knitting/crochet vibe everywhere in my hometown, I definitely motivated to keep the spirit to knit & crochet always UP.

Gathering is always fun....

It's been our third gathering since the community was first launched at June 2011.
Yup, I'm talking about the Rajuter's of Pekanbaru gathering held last Saturday, 13th August 2011. Since August is the month of fasting for Muslims this year, we decided to choose the local library as our meeting spot this time.

Though almost half of the members of community was fasting, the excitement to knit and crochet was amazingly high, even we all have to sit down on the floor. 

Guess nothing beats the enjoyment of spending your time doing things that you like especially with the people who share same hobbies.

Oh ya, not to forget, what has been decided as the monthly homework for some of the members who has agreed to join along, 2pcs Granny Square to be submitted with 2 lucky person to be picked every month. And guess what I'm so lucky to be the first to win all this. But now come the other homework is to join those grannies together. We'll just see how it turn up next month ya...

Fun Gathering again...

Last Saturday, 23rd July 2011, Pekanbaru's Rajuters again having a gathering at Mall Pekanbaru Foodcourt. Amazingly the people who participate not less then the 1st gathering last month. We even have some new faces joining in too.
Other than that we actually managed to attract outsiders who were actually only passing by, due to our exciting noise & activities.

I am just hoping that the community will grow even bigger in future & instead of having the gathering once a month, it will become a once a week activity hopefully.

A Meet Up to Remember

Been planning for awhile to meet up fellow crocheter/knitter around the city where I live & finally it came true.

Last Saturday, 25th June 2011, in conjuction of World Wide Knitting in Public (WWKIP) day, as well as celebrating the third Festival Rajutan Indonesia in advance, we finally gather around at Vanhollano Mall Pekanbaru.

Though the number of people attended not as expected, but it was still so much fun, especially when you get to hang out with people who share the same hobbies as yours, all we can talk was just about yarn & needle for that few hours.

It might be the first meet up arrange but definitely won't be the last to have. 

More meet up will sure to be arrange.
